FaceBook IM Client?
One of tools that I use often to stay connected with other bloggers from around the world is FaceBook (and LinkedIn), but one of the problems with FaceBook is that it doesn’t work well for instant communication. All that may change soon however as it is rumored that FaceBook has developed its own instant messaging client that doesn’t require any installation, download, or registration.
The appeal of this tool is that now those who spend hours surfing FaceBook can have an IM client in the browser itself so they can talk with other friends who are spending hours surfing FaceBook. There is no need to open up an external IM client and all users who have a FaceBook can use FaceBook IM.
There currently is an Instant Messaging application for FaceBook, but users must add the application to their profile and can only talk with other users who have added the application. With this proposed feature, there is no need to add an application and you can talk to all your friends who have a FaceBook account.
An official word from the company may be released as soon as Friday.
