Top 5 Qualities to Look for in a Blog Partner
I always like having a partner or two when starting a blog, especially when starting a news blog where dozens of daily posts have to be made. Having a partner eliminates much of the stress involved in writing, promoting, and monetizing a blog. Sure, you may have to divide the money you make between the two of you, but having a partner gives you a better chance of building a successful blog and given the number of blogs that fail, I would much rather be working on a blog that makes $10,000 a month with a partner, then a blog that makes $0 a month through my work only. Plus, a blog with two or more people should earn more than one person could by themselves. Below are 5 qualities to look for when searching for a blog partner.
5. Writing Skills and Creativity
This is pretty obvious. If you will both be writing on a blog, you want to create quality, unique content and talented and creative writers who can think outside of the box and create interesting content that cannot be found anywhere else is the best way to do this.
4. Tech/Design Savvy
With any online/technology business, at least a little understanding of how to modify and improve the site itself can come in very handy and having a partner who known a little bit about programming and designing can help greatly when any modifications need to be made.
3. Personable
A lot of blogging is who you know, so having a partner who is comfortable around others and can help build connections for your site is a big plus.
2. Hard Working
You need a partner who works as hard as you do, because otherwise you will feel you are doing all the work for half the return. Make sure you partner puts as may hours into the blog as you do.
1. Consistency
Blogging success is all about long term consistency. It is very hard and rare to create a blog that makes tens of thousands of dollars from the first week. It usually takes a lot of time before any return on investment, especially when starting your first blog. Make sure your blog partner is in it for the long haul.
